I understand there is some confusion about my ‘open door’ policy and thought it best to clarify the policy. You are my most important resource and I have always encouraged an ‘open door’ policy in order that staff can air concerns and give me a ‘heads up’ on breaking issues. However, some staff have interpreted this as meaning that they can come into my office whenever my door is open and they have a concern or issue they need to bring to my attention. Let me make this clear – my door is always open IF I need to speak with you. However, if you need to speak to me can I ask you to go through the usual channels and schedule a meeting through Fiona.
PS. Bob should soon be back at work. Fiona has apologised, surrendered the taser to the authorities, and I now consider this matter closed.
Quote of the Day:
If your number one goal is to make sure that everyone likes and approves of you, then you risk sacrificing your uniqueness and, therefore, your excellence.
