Process Improvement Initiative - IT Projects

The IT Process Improvement Team (ITPIT) have identified delays in the process for handling software proposals as a major business process improvement opportunity.  The team have recommended a simple standardized pro-forma (see below) to improve this process.  The efficiency gains from the use of this form are expected to free up significant resources within IT for the support of key IT projects.  Furthermore, by scrapping the existing appeals process, IT expect to make further time-savings that will be re-directed to other, more value-adding activities.

I lend my full support to their proposal to streamline the process of rejecting proposals on IT grounds.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

IT can/cannot (delete as appropriate) support the proposed software project.

The benefits to the organization - improved productivity, information sharing, knowledge transfer, problem solving - are outweighed by the following IT concerns (check as appropriate):

a) security concerns
b) support issues
c) validation concerns
d) control issues
e) exposure to potential litigation
f) all of the above

Your expected appeal - on the grounds of improved productivity, information sharing, knowledge transfer, problem solving - will be rejected.
