2. running or moving lightly over a surface: lambent tongues of flame .

3. softly bright or radiant: a lambent light .

 

Usage:  The verdict was unanimous.  Even the defendant’s lambent wit could not disguise from the jury those CCTV images him holding his wife’s severed head triumphantly aloft.
