CONFIDENTIAL: Dijon Situation

I'm sure that most of you know by now that we had a problem yesterday at our site in Dijon. I need hardly tell you that the meltdown of Reactor C and resulting thermonuclear detonation represents something of a public relations disaster.  The loss of France is regrettable but right now we are assisting authorities with their efforts to evacuate most of Northern Europe. The fallout from this event could be disastrous – after initial falls our share price rallied this morning - mainly on the strength of our Disaster Recovery and Hazardous Waste Handling divisions. Corporate Communications have asked that we make “no comment” to press or TV during this difficult time.

  1. Whilst I respect the request from Coporate Communication, it's fair to say that many of us have felt for some time that Dijon didn't cut the mustard.

  2. Health and Safety are going crazy. Some fuss about an unauthorized kettle in the control room that had not been checked by Facilities. With the death toll still rising (latest estimate 78,396,420) can someone please tell them to butt out and give me a break. I will get to the kettle - but not right now.
